“This is just a wonderful unassuming place, a fraction off the beaten track. Any time I have gone here, I have had excellent food. The décor is simple and understated – with wooden benches, bottles of (real) wine as wallpaper and relaxed and pleasant staff, what’s not to like. The best part of this was my meal last night, taking mum for the first time. We had a mouth watering risotto with a wonderful combo of flavours. She was really impressed!!!”

“This is quite possibly the best wine bar in West London. Low key, great wine and much of it by the glass, super helpful staff and an amazing cheese selection. Dont go if you want it fancy as it isn’t. It is just fab wine, perfect snacks to go with the wine and nice clientele.
I go about once a week and am never disappointed. The mini chorizo are to die for. They do great main meals too all simple, hearty and fresh. Love the halloumi salad.
My perfect evening – a bottle of red, some cheese, mini chorizo and a big basket of bread.”

“Their cheese plate is the stuff of dreams, chosen from a chalkboard with reassuringly French handwriting. Add in some high-quality red and this is a lovely place – perfect for dates and friend catch-ups.”

“It has been suggested by some that Albertine has its own little time zone. One pops in for a quick glass only to emerge(too many hours later) with a rouge-tinted smile to finally head home…It has been suggested by others that Albertine is all about the wine but, for the friends that have now become family through all the hours passed there together it has only ever been really about the time.”

“This place is well hidden and I hope it stays that way. It’s nice and intimate and if you can’t find a seat, feel free to prop up at the bar. Excellent selection of wines from around the world. The waitress are generally more than happy to chat with everyone which I really liked. You should totally visit it.”

I love finding places like this. From the outside, many people wouldn’t give it a second look, but step inside and you enter a welcoming world of fine wine and tasty nibbles. The wine list is fantastic and the staff are very knowledgeable for the non- connoisseurs. It’s very laid back and perfect just for grazing and socialising. We just had a few glasses of wine and a Spanish charcuterie and a selection of cheeses. Everything tasted great and I can’t wait to go back. It’s a bit like meeting someone for the first time, but you feel that you’ve known them for years.
Next time you’re shopping at Westfield, ignore the commercial food places and step outside for a little old fashioned hospitality.

“Boldly resisting the rise of Westfield over the road, with its string of restaurants that serve your food at their convenience, not yours, Albertine’s continues a traditional of well-prepared, simple but tasty food with a fine selection of wines by the glass. An oasis of calm that deserves our continued support.”

“More suited to the backstreets of Montmarte than the debatable charms of Wood Lane, Albertine is a gorgeous, unaffected little wine bar”

“This is one of those places that’s slowly making me rethink my opinion of West London. I rarely travel there but I’d definitely come back for this gem of a wine bar.”

“Giles Phillips’ commitment to good-quality, good-value drinking makes his list at Albertine arguably the capital’s best”

“Last year Albertine won the Wines of Spain Wine List of the Year award, beating no less than L’Escargot into second place. This news will come as no surprise to locals and BBC staff who have long known it as the best wine bar in Shepherd’s Bush”

“Shepherd’s Bush residents ought to feel mighty privileged that they have the Aladdin’s Cave of wine bars right on their doorstep.”
